Group Fitness Class Descriptions

Beginners & Senior Classes: Average 2-5+ workouts a week/Low Impact Cardio, Basic Movements

Senior Balance & Strength:  Helps seniors regain and improve balance and strength.  Most exercises are done seated.

SilverSneakers® Muscular Strength and Range of Movement:  Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills.  Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

SilverSneakers® YogaStretch:  This class will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses.  Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement.  Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

Not Just For Seniors:  Great for seniors and beginners.  Heart rate monitoring throughout class.  Includes rhythmic movements and some body sculpting with light weights.

Tai Chi:  Slow rhythmic movements, promotes balance, coordination, cardio fitness.

Zumba® Gold®:  A series of fitness programs specifically designed to take the exciting Latin and international dance and fitness program created in the original Zumba® program and bring them to the beginner, active older adult and all participants needing modifications for a successful class.  Created to emphasize the basic steps of Zumba®, this explosive program is so easy to follow, that EVERYONE of all ages can do it!

Intermediate Classes:  Average 2-5 workouts a week.  High/Low impact and Cardio.

Fit Ball:  Calorie burner with the use of the stability ball to sculpt and tone.

Fit Mama's:  Meet other mom's and lose that baby weight.  Or, even if your not a mom, you're welcome to join us!  This class combines strength training and cross training to help get you back into shape!  Weather permitting, we may walk/run outdoors.

Pilates:  Lengthen and sculpt your muscles.

Step:  Great for legs and gluts.  Exercise using platform stepping up and down.

Yoga:  Great class for stretching, flexibility, and relaxation.  Class can last up to 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Zumba® Toning:  An exciting Latin inspired dance and tone program.  This is the original dance-fitness class taken to the next level.  Zumba® Toning is an innovative muscle training program with the addition of light weight toning sticks.  We provide 2 1/2 lb., sand-filled toning sticks, which are very similar to maracas.

Intermediate to Advanced Classes:  Average 2-5+ workouts a week.  Fast Paced, High Intensity.

Cross Training:  Combines ply metrics and agility for a high intensity cardio and strength training class.  Helps increase endurance and speed.  Instructor will help you keep track of your progress.

Interval Training:  This class combines station work with cardio and interval training, high/low intensity moves, class may go outside.

Marine Fitness:  High intensity calisthenics.

Mixed Martial Arts:  Designed to allow martial artists from all disciplines and skill levels to collaborate, exchange teachings, and master multiple forms of martial arts.

Mini Boot Camp:  Fast paced, interval training.  Works total body.

Triathlon Training:  Begins with a one hour swim practicing kicks and strokes, followed by an hour of cycling on a stationary bike; finishing with a 1/2 hour run on treadmill or outdoors.

Zumba®:  An aerobic workout with Latin Rhythms and easy to follow moves to tone and sculpt while burning fat.  Remember to bring water bottle and towel, you will work up a sweat.  Also, you will want shoes that don't grab the floor, an old worn out pair works great.
