Hiwassee Valley Pool and Wellness Center Membership Rules

Code of Conduct

The Hiwassee Valley Wellness Center management and staff are committed to maintaining an environment entirely free from discrimination or harassment. We ask that you conduct yourself in an appropriate manner at all times. We reserve the right to expel or cancel the membership of anyone who does not adhere to our policies or displays inappropriate behavior.

Dress Code

·    Everyone entering the facility must be wearing shoes, shirt, shorts/pants , or any other appropriate work-out clothing.

·    Men and boys are expected to wear a shirt with their swim suit while inside the facility. Ladies and girls are expected to wear a shirt or bathing suit cover while inside the facility.

      No one wearing just a swim suit is permitted in the hallways, lobby, Fitness Area, Aerobics Studio, or Kid’s Club.

·   No wet suits are permitted outside the pool area and locker rooms.

      No string bikinis and no thongs permitted.

·    Flip flops are not permitted in the Aerobics Studio or the Cardio/Weight Room

Food and Drink

No food, snacks, or soft drinks are permitted on the Pool Deck, in the Cardio/Weight Room, or in the Aerobics Studio.

·    No drinks containing sugar are permitted on the pool deck. Only plastic water bottles are permitted on the pool deck.

·    Food and soft drinks may be consumed in the picnic area of the pool yard ONLY!

Children under the age of 18

    Do not leave your children ages eight (8) and under unattended.

·    Children may only sit in the lobby if they are supervised by an adult. You may NOT leave your children in the lobby, locker room, hallway, multi-purpose room, or against the wall in the weight room while you work out.

·   Children ages eight (8) and under are not permitted in the pool area unless accompanied by an adult.

·    Children ages nine (9) and older may swim in the kiddie pool while their guardian is working out. Children are not permitted to leave the pool/ locker room areas until their guardian comes to pick them up after their work-out.

·    Children under 4 feet 3 inches tall who can’t swim one length of the pool will not be permitted to use the big pool unless accompanied by their parent or guardian. The lifeguards will provide a test to see if they can swim.

      All youth under the age of 18 who can’t swim two lengths of the pool without stopping will NOT be permitted to use the deep half of the pool.

·     No youth under the age of 16 will be permitted to enter the Cardio/Weight Room or the Aerobics Studio. With a doctor's prescription under age children can use the facility under supervision.

·     Each person who joins any of the Wellness Centers Swim Teams will pay an additional fee.

      The HVPWC staff is NOT responsible for children except in the kid’s club during supervised hours.

Cardio and Free Weight Room

·    This room is available to members and daily users that are 16 years and older.

·     Please do not drop weights on the floor or bang dumbbells together. Replace all weights and plates on racks when finished.

·     Wipe down all equipment after use. (cleaning solution is provided).

·     No open toe or heel shoes.

·     NO CELL PHONES.

Lockers

Lockers are for day use or rental only. Locks that remain overnight for more than one night will be cut off unless rented.

Lost and Found

HVPWC is not responsible for lost or stolen items. All valuables found by HVPWC are kept at the front desk.

Items will go in a “lost and found” box for one week before they are thrown away.

Kid’s Club

·    Parents are required to sign their children in and out at the kid’s club.

·    Parents must be in the facility at all times for their kids to be in the kid’s club

Scheduling

A schedule of activities for the aerobics studio and the pool will be provided monthly.

Check-In Procedure

Members are required to scan their HVPWC card each time they enter the facility. Your picture is required upon sign in. There will be five ($5.00) charge for replacement cards.
